- Due to increasing weather disruption caused by Global Warming, there will continue to be massive crop losses like the ones we had in the past year. There will be several such bad years within the next decade. This will lead to increased food prices that will not be affordable in the poorest nations and barely affordable in richer nations. That in turn will lead to social unrest and eventually mass migrations and wars.
- Dominion Christianity, a religious movement that seeks to turn the US into a Theocracy governed by Old Testament laws, will make major inroads in several US States. It is already very influential amongst Fundamentalist Churches and Conservative politicians.
- Global Warming will worsen, causing the following in the next 2 decades:
- Sometime between the years 2020 and 2030, the Arctic ice cap will be ice free during the summer; initially for a few days, then longer in following years. The open oceans will change and disrupt weather patterns. Major weather disruptions have already started a few years ago and will worsen in the coming decade.
- More intense rains will contribute to the previously mentioned crop losses and flooding leading to damage to the social infrastructure.
- In the regions immediately south of the Arctic Ocean, major snowstorms. However, the snow season will shorten.
- Disruption of the Jet Stream leading to droughts in Russia like the one in the summer of 2010.
